Trauma Counseling
Help is here
If you’re experiencing trauma, you’ve found a safe, supportive space to begin healing. At Pacific Emotional Wellness, we offer trauma-informed therapy in San Luis Obispo, using a mind-body approach to help you process difficult experiences at your own pace. Our therapists integrate evidence-based methods, including EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help reduce the emotional intensity of traumatic memories and support lasting healing. You don’t have to go through this alone—through compassionate care, you can begin to feel more grounded, safe, and empowered in your daily life again.
Healing & Acceptance are Possible
You're not alone
What you’ve experienced is real—and incredibly hard. Trauma can show up in many ways: trouble sleeping, anxiety, anger, numbness, or a sense of disconnection. These are natural responses to overwhelming events. Trauma therapy can help you begin to understand your experience and release what’s been held in your nervous system.
Your mind and body matter
Trauma affects both your brain and your body. Research shows that trauma can change how your nervous system responds to stress, making it harder to feel calm or safe. That’s why our therapy includes support for both emotional healing and body-based techniques to regulate and restore balance, and our therapists also incorporate EMDR and somatic techniques to their therapy practice.
You found a safe space for healing
No matter how long ago your trauma occurred, your future is still yours to reclaim. Our therapists provide a safe, supportive environment where you can begin to feel like yourself again—one step at a time.
